January wrap-up
Yeah, I know it’s nearly mid-February, but hey, I’ve been busy. Work has been crazy and I’ve been writing A LOT. So I haven’t been streaming much either. Most all my free time has been writing. This wasn’t something I was expecting. But it does sort of happen sometimes.
I don’t know what triggers the binge writing or the influx of ideas I get during this time. Nor is it on any sort of schedule, which is irritating when I do have a schedule to keep.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to. All month. I’ve been writing.
The funny thing is that it didn’t really start until the end of the month. Like the last week. I was doing some rewrites on some words I’d done on a previous draft of BL4 that never got finished that I wanted to include in this new one. So that’s where a lot of the editing pages from the middle column comes from. Maybe pulling those words in is what triggered the current binge session. I’m not sure.
It was like an tidal wave of words and ideas and I’ve learned over the years, that when this happens, I just need to go with it. Most things can be rescheduled but this… when this tidal wave happens, I just need to grab the surf board and hold on.
Yes, I’m making a surfing analogy when I know nothing about surfing so my apologies if that makes no sense.
February is turning out no less productive on the writing front. We’re only 11 days in, and I’ve already surpassed all of January. I’m probably 1/3rd of the way through Bloodlines 4. It’s turning out long, no surprise. But I think it may be long enough that I might need to cut some scenes out. But that’s for Future Suze to worry about. I also wrote a treatment of a new book, possibly a new series. This one… I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it. I’m considering doing a subscription with this one, but also, I want to see if I can get an artist to draw a manga or webtoon-type of work based on the story. I think it would translate really well into that medium.
So it’s something I’m looking into.
Anyway, I’ll be coming back to streaming soon. Probably in another week or two, so I can get most of this writing binge out of my system first. I also have some changes coming up with streaming, but that will be something for Future Suze to talk about, once those changes have been solidified.
As for anything else I’ve been working on or talking about… pretty much that’s been backburner’d. Writing is once again taking over my life, and you know, I’m okay with that. We’ll run with it until it peters out, and then we will go back to normal life routines and writing until the next whirlwind.
I’m still going to try to remember to post on Wednesdays as usual. I think I’ve missed two or three at this point. But I’m definitely going to try to get back to at least that, so you guys know what’s happening and you can kind of keep up with my crazy as we go along.
