On the eve of 2024

One of my goals for the New Year is to consolidate and streamline what I do online. I was thinking about this the other day, and I realized that I love having a blog, even if I don’t update it that often. I’m sad that I’ve lost hundreds of posts over the years when my website went through renovations or the couple of times that I let it expire and the databases got deleted.

I’ve been blogging since sometime in 2003ish… I think my very first blog was on Myspace, and then it moved to LiveJournal, and then it lived on Blogger for a bit, Tumblr, and then Wordpress (the self-hosted option) for years.

I have been sending out a semi-regular newsletter through Substack, and I’m enjoying that, but it made me realize that I miss blogging. I don’t care if no one ever reads it. I love it.

So here we are. Finally. On my website, where the blog actually belongs.

I have some things I want to do here. I want to post some free fiction. I want to talk about my life. I want to post pictures of what I’m up to and talk about the publishing and gaming industries.

We’ll start with weekly posts. Just easy things. And we shall build if we need to.

So here we are, on the eve of 2024. We’re gonna do the thing. It’s gonna be great.
